Starchitect Santiago Calatrava has unveiled the first renderings for NYC's new Church of St. Nicholas, a rebuild of a structure destroyed on Sept. 11. Using churches in Istanbul as inspiration, the proposed structure will boast "40 ribs in the dome and stone bands on the church's corners," Curbed NY writes, which means it will be quite a departure from the original architecture.
