Last night on The Daily Show Jon Stewart tackled the architecture subject du jour: SOM's One World Trade Center officially beating out Chicago's Willis Tower as America's tallest building, a decree that came a few days ago from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. "As of today, New York's new mayor isn't the only thing about New York City that is freakishly tall," Stewart says, later adding, "Of course the only concern with having a spire like that on top of a New York skyscraper is keeping stripper King Kong off of it." Naturally, the segment transitions into a brilliant New York-Chicago showdown (Eater National has the full video, which centers heavily on pizza) that effectively pits the "tallest building in the United States" against, uh, "the tallest occupied spot in a building in North America."
