Manhattan Condo With Amazing Views Asks $45K a Month

New, 2 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: New York, N.Y.
Price: $45,000 a month
The Skinny: It's hard to beat the incredible views from this 53rd-floor rental in the Upper West Side's Millennium Tower, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and near-panoramic Central Park, Hudson River, and Midtown vistas, and the location—a block from the park and two blocks from Lincoln Center—is not too shabby, either. The five-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom unit has a large open-plan living area with south and east views, an eat-in kitchen with the ever-ubiquitous-in-luxury-housing Viking and Sub-Zero appliances, plus a staff room and bathroom for the help (natch). The usual perks (doorman, security system, concierge) aside, the building's amenities aren't as exclusive as one might imagine: a "special membership rate to the Reebok Sports Club" downstairs and an "IMAX theater" which, is it really an amenity if it can easily be accessed by anyone walking down Broadway who buys a ticket at Loew's? Still: those views! The unit, which hit the market in October of this year, is asking $45K a month in rent, more than double the median rental price per square foot on the Upper West Side.
