By merging Milan's architectural skyline and its residents' profiles into black-and-white composite portraits, photographer Francesco Paleari creates a stunning visual representation of the city and the people who animate it. Appropriately called Profili di Milano (Profiles of Milan), the photographer—whose previous work is mainly made up of more traditional landscapes— famous historical structures like the famed Milan Cathedral, the arch at Porta Sempione, and the Velasca Tower, to name a few, are perfectly aligned with the human faces present in a way that is stunning, surreal, and quite different from past projects bringing humans and buildings together as one.
