A new vacation package to Whistler includes a two night stay at the Nita Lake Lodge (one of our 38 Essential Ski Town Hotels), champagne, and... a one carat diamond engagement ring. Wait, what? Billed as the "Diamond Ice Proposal Package," the Nita Lake Lodge PR department has stopped at nothing to help hopeless (but wealthy) gentleman pull off the engagement of a lifetime. The package starts at $20,000 and includes the ring, dinner for two, a couples massage, breakfast, and (drumroll please) a 20-minute helicopter tour and picnic on Rainbow Glacier where the nervous millionaire can pop the question. Although not as expensive as this cancelled Little Nell vacation package, Whistler is proving that Aspen doesn't have the over-the-top-luxury-market cornered quite yet.
