Watch the Storm Roll In on Aspen's High-Def Cameras

Aspen ski area has upped the ante in mountain cams by installing four "Roundshot" high-definition cameras that provide jaw-dropping panoramas. Each camera captures a high resolution, 360-degree image every ten minutes which is then immediately transferred online so powder chasers can track weather movement and even create time-lapses of the day's weather. The price tag for fulfilling the wishes of every weather geek in the state of Colorado? A hefty $20,000 for each device. With Aspen slated to get between 1-2 feet of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, Curbed Ski thinks these cameras are the best bets to watch the storm roll in and the snow pile up.
