Reese Witherspoon Finally Sells Calif. Ranch at $817K Loss

New, 1 comment

Yikes, looks like the Ojai, Calif., home actress Reese Witherspoon bought for $5.8M back in March 2008 just sold to an unknown buyer for a (relatively) measly $4,983,500. Designed by L.A. architectural poobah Wallace Neff, and even once featured in the hallowed pages of Elle Decor, the 1923-built mini-ranch—dubbed the Libbey Ranch—is actually quite a beauty, offering a Spanish-style main house, seven acres of equestrian property, and souped-up interiors left by former tenant and celebrity decorator Kathryn Ireland. Despite its apparent charms, though, the Legally Blonde actress tried to unload it on the open market in September 2012 for $10M, and when that didn't work she unsuccessfully tried again—this time for a PriceChopped $7.25M in March 2013. Still, lest anyone feel too worried about Witherspoon's final $816,500 loss, remember the star has a few clutch properties to wallow in. Now, do check out the recently sold home:
