Come Tour John Fogerty's Shockingly Gaudy New Calif. Pad

New, 4 comments

Looks like rock star John Fogerty—of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame—recently plunked down $8.95M for a Thousand Oaks, Calif. manse that just might be one of the most unappealing celebrity homes to pop up in quite a while. Measuring in at 13,053 square feet, the sprawling seven-bedroom "Rustic Mediterranean Estate" appears to be after some sort of faux-Old World look, accompanied by a liberal dose oversized sconces, chandeliers, and pillars that make the place look like a very much like a slightly upscale Medieval Times locale. Other semi-enticing amenities include a 500-bottle wine closet, a large salt water pool, a so-called—ugh—"man cave", and a lifetime's supply of heavily draped and tasseled window treatments. Meanwhile, the listing for the Proud Mary minstrel's Beverly Hills home, which he's been quietly trying to sell for a few months now, is no longer active, so it could be move-in day for these over-the-top interiors.
