The Viceroy Snowmass Hotel made it on our list of the 38 Essential Ski Town Hotels and if property sales are any indication, skiers are equally happy with the the Residences Viceroy Snowmass. The 152-unit, whole ownership condo property at the base of Snowmass mountain sold 50 units last season at prices up to $2.4 million for the four-bedroom condos. Owners of the luxury condos enjoy a ski-in/ski-out location, high-end modern mountain decor, and all of the amenities of the Viceroy Snowmass Resort (don't miss the spa, pool, and slope side ski valet to haul those pesky skis). The Snowmass Base Village has long had its construction troubles, but things are looking up with the opening of two restaurants by Food & Wine Best New Chef recipient Tim Goodell. The French themed Ricard Brasserie and Liquor Bar and the eatery Bia Hoi Southeast Asian Street Food have revitalized empty retail spaces in the village, with Goodell hoping to bring a bit of international culinary pizazz to the Snowmass scene. Luxury digs, new places to get your food on, and plans for a new Limelight hotel mean that Snowmass is creating some serious competition for its posh (and more famous) sister town down the street.
