Curbed Politics

Exciting news on the political front for outdoorsy people like our lovely Curbed Ski audience! President Obama has nominated Sally Jewell, the president of REI, to lead the Interior Department. The outdoor industry exec will head up a department that oversees 500 million acres on shore, over a billion offshore, and provides services to 566 Native American tribes. Her nomination was as excitable for the Sierra Club as it was for some oil and gas groups. [Summit Daily News]
