Few stretches of American coastline are more beautiful than the Big Sur section of California's Central Coast, but at least one homeowner wasn't satisfied with the stunning vistas from a rocky outcrop high above the Pacific, so he or she installed a giant glass-walled indoor swimming pool. Completed in 1969, the house now sprawls over 12,000 square feet on 1.7 acres, less than half an hour south of Carmel. The dated architecture leaves plenty to be desired, especially given the $10.8M price tag, but there's no scoffing at the views. This stuffy stucco palace will need a significant redo to escape the wrecking ball, but the rare combination of private indoor pool and California sunsets could woo a features minded buyer.
