Over in Detroit, a castle-like former police station has been chopped up into condos, making it the latest addition to the ever-growing list of home complexes carved out of non-residential spaces. The circa-1901 Grand River Station, designed by Detroit architect Louis Kamper, will soon become Castle Lofts, a collection of moderately-priced homes with jacuzzi tubs and Wi-Fi.
