Fun With Urban Planning

A long-standing lawsuit against the City of Aspen by a citizens' group hoping to do away with the annoying S-turn entrance to Aspen proper with a straight four-lane road was recently defeated in Colorado's Supreme Court. The court came to the conclusion that changing the lanes was "administrative in nature," and thus couldn't be effected by citizens' groups. Still, the line of varying proposals for better transit in and out of city, which has even included a gondola from Aspen to Snowmass, carries on. [Aspen Times]
