Dave Matthews Buys Low-Key Malibu Estate for $6.575M

New, 7 comments

Dave Matthews, the ubiquitous singer-songwriter of the aughts, recently dropped $6.575M on a 7,000-square-foot "European Country" manse in Malibu, Calif. The purchase is just the latest addition to Matthews' robust property portfolio; according to The Real Estalker, Matthews—whose band was No. 1 in concert ticket sales in North America between 2000 and 2010—also owns a bungalow in Seattle, a winery in Charlottesville, Va., 1,000 acres of farmland near Scottsville, Va., and a recording studio plunked on 140 acres. His Malibu place sits behind the gates of the ritzy enclave of Point Dume, and boasts an apple orchard, a multi-level terrace, and deeded access to a private bit of coastline. Check out the outdoor amenities—as well as the open floorplan and low-key interiors—in the gallery above.
