Inside Tommy Lee Jones' Sprawling Florida Polo Estate

New, 1 comment

Tommy Lee Jones has listed his 50-acre polo estate in Wellington, Fla., for $26.75M. The actor, who was nominated for an Oscar this year for his role in Lincoln, bought the property for only $4.62M in 2002 and has, presumably, updated it in ways that justify the aim in selling it for nearly six times what he paid. Listing photos reveal very little about the four-bedroom, 11,000-square-foot main home, but it appears to be outfitted with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, poised to soak in the regulation-sized polo field and 48 horse stalls. As it happens, Jones is an avid fan of barns, having had at least one of his other farm estates—he owns a couple in Texas—featured in Garden & Gun magazine. Acres and acres of open land, all from a guy who lived in a dark, cramped dorm room with Al Gore during their early years at Harvard.
