Residents of June Lake, CA whose Mammoth-owned ski area was abruptly closed this summer, are pressuring the Forest Service to make June Mountain's re-opening a condition of a land swap deal that would give Mammoth Mountain developable base area real estate. Mammoth CEO Rusty Gregory has asked June Lake's board to write a letter of support for the land trade, and the town sees support for the land swap as their last means of leverage. [Sierra Wave]
