Wacky architecture it-boy Bjarke Ingels has been tapped to spruce up the Smithsonian Campus on the National Mall in DC. He probably won't be tearing anything in half, but he will be putting forth the first phase of an overhaul aimed at better configuring public spaces and enlivening the "shabby and drab" old buildings.
