The iconic Katmandu shop, which sold snowboards, mountain bikes, instruments, longboards, and head shop supplies is closing up shop in Whistler Village. The owner cited greater increased competition, internet shopping, and the reality of the Whistler retail rental scene as his main reasons. Luckily he has felt moved enough to give it another go, this time in Function Junction, which one optimistic critic has called "Whistler's SoHo." [Pique News Magazine]
