Steamboat To Break Ground On New Lodge Before Closing Day

Steamboat announced in a press release today that it will begin construction on its new Four Points Lodge before the resort closes for skiing. Steamboat will shut down the existing Four Points Hut April 7th and begin work the day after closing day on April 15th, with the hope of having the 200 seat, 13,000 square foot lodge up and running by next Christmas. The existing hut is 1,000 square feet and serves grab-and-go items, but the hope is for a full-scale lodge with all kinds of environmental bells and whistles in addition to indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a "state of the art" BBQ grill, flatscreens, and a 30-seat bar.
