Forbes recently interviewed Joan Behnke, a L.A.-based interior designer who's part of a rather exclusive coterie of those who create spaces for the über-rich. What one might find in Behnke's projects: "rare strains of Carrara marble selected along the steep edges of a Tuscan stone quarry" or "black lacquered chairs created by artisans in a remote fishing village in Myanmar." She also completed the lavish interiors of Solana, a Santa Barbara estate currently asking more than $57M. [Forbes; previously]
