Location: Weehawken, N.J.
The Skinny: Park Avenue, that storied Manhattan boulevard, is home to some of NYC's most dignified, and expensive, listings. This $7.5M house, though titled "EUROPEAN PARK AVENUE ELEGANCE" in the brokerbabble, lies nowhere near that Park Avenue, but rather on the banks of the Hudson River in Weehawken, N.J.. To be fair, the gilded interiors wouldn't be out of place on the Upper East Side and the views across the river are tremendous—with 42nd Street carving a neat canyon out of the skyline—but finding someone who wants to pay Park Avenue prices for a Weehawken address may be difficult, despite the lengthy list of amenities. The three-bed, five-bath spread measures more than 7,000 square feet and includes "gourmet kitchen, library, 5-stop elevator, surround sound, multi-zones with radiant heat, high ceilings, custom Marvin windows, moldings, marble fireplaces, game room and private outdoor space."
