The trial is underway to determine the damages that will be awarded to a British national who was injured when a tower on Whistler's Excalibur gondola failed in December 2008. In that incident, water freezing and expanding within the top half of the fourth tower caused it to shear off, dropping some gondola cabins 9 metres while another collided with a bus stop shelter. The plaintiff, Amy Shefton, is claiming psychological and physical damages. [Pique]
