A Utah Department Of Transportation avalanche forecaster has died in an slide in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Park City's Craig Patterson, 34, was found dead in an avalanche in the Cardiff Fork area where he was working. A "veteran" backcountry skier, Patterson had worked as a forecaster for the UDOT since 2006. Crews are now inspecting the area where Patterson was found to judge the size of the avalanche. [KSL]
