Larry Ellison's East Lake Tahoe Home Up For $28.5 Million

New, 1 comment

The wires have been blowing up the past 24 hours with news that Oracle Founder and CEO Larry Ellison is selling his amenity and square foot-stuffed East Shore mansion and two guest houses in the private lakefront community of Glenbrook. There's a lot of gems boosting the initial asking price to a healthy $28,500,000. The 9,242 square foot main house, which just finished a three-year remodel, packs a serious main dinner table, soundproof screening room, game room and gym, a sauna, and an indoor/outdoor cocktail room. A short walk from the main house on the 2.42 acre property, which was concocted through the purchase of the two neighboring properties in 2009 for $3.3 million, sits an outdoor hot tub overlooking a private marina with its own breakwater and two piers that span the 230 feet of lake frontage.

Ellison's got a penchant for combining neighboring properties to maximize the pimp factor. He bought Jerry Bruckheimer's Malibu beach home because it was sandwiched between two of his 9 Carbon Beach properties, and his Glenbrook mansion is no exception. With his three lakefront properties combined, Ellison augmented his 6 bed, 8.5 bath main mansion with a 1,326 square foot, 2 bed, 3 bath guest home and a second one with 2,934 square feet, 5 bedrooms, and 3.5 bathrooms. Any potential buyer will have to bring their own fleet of jetskis, however.
