A young Breckenridge-based company, Summit Soap Company, is making soaps, beard conditioners, and grease remover from used cooking oil the company recycles from area restaurants with partner Summit Greasecycling, who uses the stuff to make biodiesel. The concept isn't a scientific revolution - all soaps use an oil of some kind of a base - but the closed-loop nature of the business is pretty rad. The company's even developing an industrial cleaner to sell to the very restaurants they get their oil from. [Summit Daily News]
