At first glance, Kevin James' home, newly listed for $5.495M and nestled in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, looks like any other Spanish-style, red-roofed mansion in Southern California. Although the interiors aren't a whole lot more imaginative overall, they're definitely peppered with impressive details: the incredible copper La Cornue stove, no doubt worth tens of thousands of dollars; the capiz-shell chandelier in the master bath; the Macassar-ebony detail in the walk-in closet ("equally befitting a posh boutique on Rodeo Dr," says one snippet of brokerbabble); and the tiled accent wall in the master bedroom.
The comedian, best known from the comedy series The King of Queens, paid $3.2M for the 11,291-square-foot mansion on two acres in 2003 and clearly invested quite a bit more into the finishes, fixtures, and furnishings. Not that money's really a concern for the guy: in October, perhaps lured by effusive brokerbabble himself, James dropped $18.5M on a Florida mansion.
