Details About August Ironman In Whistler Released

The details of the course for the August 25th Ironman Canada in Whistler and Pemberton, which will be the first of the four Ironman races in this year's series, were released this week. The 2,600 competitors, who sold out the event soon after it launched, will begin the race by swimming across Alta Lake, and then will take to a 112 mile bike ride from Rainbow Park in Whistler. That will close part of the Sea to Sky Highway as well as Pemberton Meadows Road, and then competitors will run a marathon along an unknown route. Final road closure details are expected by the end of the month or early May. It is assured that regardless of the ultimate route, the spandex quotient will be hovering around 110%.
