Formula One heiresses Petra and Tamara Ecclestone are profligate mansion-buyers, and the Times is on it. Tamara found L.A.'s Carolwood Estate "not grand enough" to buy, said the broker, referring to the 35,000-square-foot mansion whose foyer alone boasts verde jade marble. Then again, she's competing with the 57,000-square-foot Spelling manor her sister bought for $85M. And that's without Petra's $20M renovation "that involved some 500 workers who toiled around the clock." [NYT; previously]
