Decoded: the Most 'Opulent' Listings in the Country

New, 1 comment

Welcome back to The Brokerbabble Glossary, where Curbed takes a word or phrase that shows up repeatedly in listings and deciphers its true meaning. Ideas? Hit up the tipline.

The dictionary definition of the word "opulent" is: "Possessing or exhibiting great wealth; characterized by rich abundance." When presented with an opulent home, one is supposed to think to oneself, what manner of king or earthly god resides in that monument to decadence? or, alternately, oh man, who actually paid money to have fuchsia awnings put over all the windows? Either one works.

This is what appears to be the glass top of a patio table balanced on a piece of wood from a tree that got struck by lightning.

This is what appears to be a three-gallon bathtub flanked by tiny columns and matching sinks. So, it would probably be pretty opulent if you were, say, the king and queen of the Ewoks.

These are floors.
