It's time once again for Curbed Comparisons, where we break down what you can get at the same price point, style or size in five different Cape and Islands neighborhoods. This week, we return to summer rentals for $1,500/week.
? We begin on Nantucket with the Hydrangea Hideaway. Located in the center of a working nursery just a mile from town, the property includes a kitchenette, outdoor grill and sleeps two. There's a three night minimum stay and the weekly rate is $1,500.
? Over on the Vineyard, we find a Chilmark post and beam guesthouse with a loft bedroom available in June for $1,300 per week. Located 250 feet from the main house, the space includes a full bathroom, washer/dryer and sleeps two. There's no kitchen, but "there is a large refrigerator, an electric 2 burner hot plate, a counter oven/toaster and a Weber grill on the outdoor deck. There is no kitchen sink, you use the bathroom sink, which is actually kitchen sized." Oh.
? This Brewster property on Smalls Pond is within a duplex cottage. The 2BR, 1BA top floor unit is a Sunday to Sunday rental for $1,300 per week. A beach pass is an additional $50, if desired, and you'll need a fishing license to drop a line in the pond.
? In East Harwich, this 2BR, 1BA sleeps four. The cottage is just 1,000 yards from the Great Sand Lakes and features a screened in porch, washer/dryer, wireless Internet, and a backyard patio.
? Finally, to Eastham. Cottage A is a 2BR, 1BA on Town Cove. The property shares a dock with two other residences and includes a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a full bath and an enclosed outdoor shower.
