About a month ago, rumors percolated that bubble gum pop sovereign and California 'gurl' Katy Perry picked up neighboring properties in L.A.'s Hollywood Hills. It's now official: Perry paid $11.2M for oil heiress Aileen Getty's 3.95-acre faux compound, a collection of properties encompassing a 4,000-square-foot mock-Med main house Perry bought for $8.2M and a modern-looking spread snatched up for an additional $3M.
It's been a hectic year for the trust that handles Perry's real estate wheelings and dealings; she officially listed her never-lived-in L.A. compound a month ago, her NYC penthouse sold at a loss in July, and, last anyone's heard, she's currently renting a three-bedroom place in West Hollywood's famed Colonial House.
Anyway, images for the main house are scarce, but the modernish property (above) brags the the glass walls and open floor plan becoming of its 1953 completion date, not to mention a long line of pseudo-celebrity owners, including the parents of Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal and Bruce Springsteen drummer and former Conan O'Brien bandleader Max Weinberg. Also on the property: custom poured concrete vanities, a pool, and L.A. views. Have a look.
