NYC apartment boards have all sorts of rules and regulations, from "No long chats with the doorman" to "No umbrellas or wet boots in the hall." While some residents resign themselves to these facts of life, others take issue: "I can see if we had mahogany-lined hallways it might make sense," one told the Times, "but we're not living in the Taj Mahal."
