Whiteface, New York Receives 34" Over Memorial Day Weekend

While late, late season dumps are not out of the question in the Rockies, Wasatch, and Sierras, a nearly three-foot dump in upstate New York on May 26th is pretty much a stand-alone phenomenon. Stowe, Vermont got 13" out of the same storm, marking the latest it's ever received a foot of snow. It's hard to tell which of the major East Coast ski season bookends - the other being the two feet of snow that fell on the Appalachians during October's Superstorm Sandy - is more bizzarre, or how much more of either we can expect with a changing climate.
