Architecture prof and noted "Chicago partisan" Thomas Leslie would like the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat to please change its criteria that define a skyscraper's height from "height to architectural top"—so, spires included—to "height to structural top," or "the tallest integral piece of structure required for the building to be fully occupied." Doing so would dethrone NYC's One World Trade as the country's tallest building, and restore the crown to Chicago's Willis Tower. [NYT]
