NYC—The Ellen Biddle Shipman house, a huge, elegant, century-old mansion on Manhattan's East Side, has sold for $35M, according to the New York Observer. The 20-foot-wide townhouse has New York's best herringbone floors and New York's best ridiculously expensive-looking La Cornue stove. Curbed NY has photos. [NYO via Curbed NY]
SHELTER MEDIA—House Beautiful will bravely hand the reigns to a rotating series of monthly guest editors this fall, starting with editor at large Chesie Breen (October) and interior designer Charlotte Moss (November). The move isn't totally new for the shelter industry; last year, AD France tapped fashion powerhouse Karl Lagerfeld to guest edit the May issue. Luckily for House Beautiful, Moss' aesthetic is more stunning Aspen home than all-chocolate hotel room. [CurbedWire]
EVERYWHERE—In October, the NYC-based textiles firm Studio Four will launch rugs with Tilton Fenwick, Amanda Nisbet, Katie Ridder, and Carrier and Company. Each design firm will contribute two patterns in three colors, adding 24 new rugs to Studio Four's offerings. [Editor at Large]
