What $600K Can Buy You Around The Cape & Islands

New, 1 comment

It's time once again for Curbed Comparisons, where we break down what you can get at the same price point, style or size in five different Cape and Islands neighborhoods. This week, listings for $600,000.

? Kicking off in Oak Bluffs with a 5BR, 1.5BA. According to the brokerbabble, this property is "One of the most admired Gingerbread Victorians in the area." We'll just have to admire it from the outside, since there aren't any interior photos (but the neighboring property is a former PriceSpotter and can satisfy unfulfilled indoor gingerbread cravings). The rather lovely 1,521 square foot residence dates to 1890 and is asking $595,000.

? Over to Eastham for this waterfront 2BR, 1.5BA in the Cape Cod National Seashore. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this 1,081 square foot residence was built in 1940 and recently renovated. The listing hit the market in May for $629,000, but met with the pricechopper earlier this month and is now asking $599,000.

? This East Sandwich Gambrel with 3BR, 2.5BA is located north of Route 6A in the historic Spring Hill neighborhood. Speaking of historic, according to the brokerbabble the .92 acre lot includes "the foundation of the 1840's Eliza Gould Wing home and seminary for girls is located in the side yard." Asking $599,000, ghost stories included.

? Ferrying over to a Mid-Island multifamily on Nantucket. This 3BR, 2BA property was built in 2002 and consists of a main house and a small cottage. Yours for $595,000.

? Finally, to Marstons Mills. This waterfront 3BR, 2BA was built in 1955 and features an open floor plan, fireplace and hardwood floors. The 1,302 square foot year round residence is set on the eastern shore of Hamblin's Pond and is asking $599,000.
