Hostels, those cheap, shared accommodations oft used by backpacking college students, may have a reputation for being a little run-down, a little poorly managed, and, well, next to nothing look at. Still, there are a handful of design-centric institutions bucking the trend, providing bright, punchy alternatives to typical hostel fare.
