It's an epic battle on the shores of North Lake Tahoe. Two Carnelian Bay neighbors, same number of bedrooms (6), similar acreage (around half an acre), similar square footage (around 7,500), and both with about 160 feet of prime lake frontage with private docks. But which custom lake home fulfills your Tahoe fantasy?
5344 North Lake Boulevard is classic log home styling with a huge South-facing deck, seawall capped with a hot tub and firepit. Some neat landscaping going on in the lawn, and a huge main room that would make for good entertaining thanks to some kitchen-side bar seating. Currently going up for $9.95 million.

Its competing neighbor at 5340 North Lake is slightly more expensive ($11.5 mil) and slightly more modern. The main room has enormous two-story glass walls that let in gobs of that Eastern morning light, and out of all the remaining elements, what really stands out is the wooden Japanese soaking tub in the bathroom. Because for wanna-be Bohemians, nothing is as satiating as Japanese architectural elements, even if we actually want to be sleeping on thick mattresses.
