With Apple and Google set to erect massive new headquarters in the next few years, it is only fitting that South Korean tech giant Samsung has also designed a state-of-the-art satellite headquarters for its Silicon Valley branch. Construction began this week on the 10-story structure, which will house 2,000 employees and feature acres of integrated green space. Planned by the architecture firm NBBJ, the headquarters will also include a fitness center and several cafes, some of which will be open to the public. The company has also made energy-efficiency a high priority, with solar panels atop the parking structure and a facade designed to reduce solar heat gain.
