Whistler/Blackcomb opened their Top Of The World trail this weekend, which is the first lift-accesible bike trail in North America accessing the high alpine (i.e. above tree line). The trail, which is available to a limited numbers of riders daily and drops from the peak of Whistler Mountain, added another 1,000 vertical feet to the existing Whistler Bike Park when it opened last summer, and when ridden from top to bottom, offers a nearly continuous drop of 5,000 vertical feet. If your quads, shoulders, and hands aren't quivering at the bottom of a run like that, you should probably see your doctor, or try out for the Olympics.
