Today Architecture Chicago Plus looks at how luxe hotel brand The Langham has transformed the city's 52-story IBM building, the last skyscraper designed by famed modernist Mies van der Rohe. The blog's main problem is with the "unfortunate" sub-canopy (pictured) added to the exterior: "With fussy scoring on the sides and a phalanx of light bulbs beneath, it looks a bit like a flattened game token in an over-priced Monopoly set."
