The Forest Service has already entered into a contract with a private buyer for their 10-acre lot in downtown Jackson that currently serves as the headquarters of Bridger-Teton National Forest. The lot went for the assessed price of $11.5 million, although the current rural zoning means it can only be repurposed as a single-family home unless a zoning change is approved by the town, which has resisted rezoning it as hotel-friendly recently.
