There's perhaps no more expedient way to update something like a 20th-century dairy building than slathering it in lilac and cobalt, sprucing it up with pop-art—featuring a cowboy and babies, for example—and well-traveled vases, and throwing in half a dozen of rose-tinted Louis Ghost chairs.
