Anonymous Owner Tries for Double with $75M Penthouse

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: New York, N.Y.
Price: $75,000,000
The Skinny: The glassy towers of Manhattan's Time Warner Center have been the background for some staggeringly expensive real estate transactions since their completion a decade ago. The listing of this $75M penthouse, currently owned anonymously through an LLC, is the latest in a long line of high-dollar flips. This 8,300-square-foot unit last traded back in 2009 for $37.5M—a price far below the $65M its owner, Austrian-born investor Gerhard Andlinger, was first asking. The subsequent owner completely renovated the high-floor aerie with direction from designer Tony Ingrao, paid common charges to the tune of $211K a year, and is now looking to profit handsomely with a $9,000-per-square-foot price tag. The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom spread enjoys 360-degree views of the park, skyline, and Hudson River, plus a screening room, library, and a 41-foot living room.
