Alert! Curbed National Hiring For Three Full-Time Positions

Effective immediately, Curbed National is expanding mightily, and seeks YOU to build out our team. Are you obsessed with jaw-dropping interiors (from nine-figure listings to whatever Arch Digest's up to this month), every breed of architecture (from swooping Zaha Hadid to the micro home), and all the fun drama that goes hand in hand with the national and global pursuit to constantly redefine what "inhabitable space" actually means? Have a competitive spirit for breaking news and uncovering stories? Do you have blogging experience? Think you'd thrive in an extremely enjoyable, flexible, and never-boring office environment? Then please, join us right here as we embark on what can only be called Curbed's Summer Spree—hiring spree, that is.

Deputy Editor

Are you tempted by the idea of being a ringleader? Do you have proven experience overseeing the day-to-day operations of ambitious, creative, and forward-thinking editorial teams? Are you razor-sharp with details, hungry to dole out assignments, and ever fascinated by the art of the SEO-friendly headline? If so, this gig's for you. The deputy editor will be the No. 2 editor on the site, assigning and top-editing the blog content, staying ahead of what's happening within the industries we cover and on the Internet at large, managing and mentoring junior-level editors and interns, and constantly probing for inventive story ideas to find a home for. This person will also contribute to larger programs and theme weeks, as well as the overall creative development of Curbed National.

Features Writer

As the job title implies, this gig will involve creating, writing, and editing in-depth features, longer, more deeply reported posts, trend reports, interviews, proprietary photo tours, and more. You must be a stellar, graceful, and funny (where appropriate) writer with a proven track record of producing high-quality, well-reported work, a passion to dig deeper into the subjects we cover daily on the site, the desire to constantly pitch new columns, ideas, and themed packages, and an ability to work independently yet comfortably meet deadlines. You're also thrilled by the prospect of identifying new freelance contributors and working with them to develop their work. Associate Editor

Although this is a junior-level position, you must love real estate, interiors, and architecture, because the majority of this gig involves daily blogging about such topics. Just as importantly, you're hungry—starving, in fact—to discover and write about great homes, scour the Web in order to find one singular gem of a story, master the art of searching Redfin, pick apart the new issue of Elle Decor, and contribute (A) practically and (B) philosophically to the creative development of the site. Interest in social media—like, you live on Twitter and love it—is also a plus, as the gig will involve responsibilities in that sphere, too. Strong reporting, editing, and writing chops also count here, as does experience blogging at a fast-paced site. All of the above are full-time with salary commensurate with experience, health benefits, and company-matched 401(k). Although it's not necessary that you live in NYC, strong preference will be given to candidates located on the East Coast, as blog time is EST. To apply, email jobs@curbed.com with "Curbed National [Job Title]" in the subject line, a paragraph about yourself, and a paragraph about why you're interested in the gig. If you've got a blog and/or a Twitter and/or a Tumblr and/or a Pinterest board, send along the links to those, too so we get a sense of your personal aesthetic. No resumes, please, and no brokers. If we like what we see, we'll follow up quickly. Thanks.
