Design Boom reports that construction is well underway at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, a project by French starchitect (who turns 68 today!) Jean Nouvel. The latticed dome (a "fibrous, aperture-ridden layer of the monumental curve" that "acts as both a parasol and diffused lighting device," per Design Boom) is slated for completion in 2015.
