L.I. Mansion, Scene of Many Society Parties, Listed for $5.75M

The 150-year-old Oyster Bay Cove, N.Y. mansion owned by the late philanthropist Frances Rousmaniere Storrs and her husband, Richard Storrs, a white-shoe law partner, has been listed by the couple's heirs for $5.75M. Mrs. Storrs passed away in April, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most prolific hostesses on Long Island—as a 2002 New York Times report on a 300-person fête where actors replicated the creation of famous paintings can attest. The scene of these lavish parties, the estate known as Over the Brook, is now awaiting a new host to throw parties in the old-world ballroom.
