The 10th annual Crankworx mountain bike festival finished up at Whistler-Blackcomb this weekend under occasionally grey and rainy skies, which made the slopestyle course for the Red Bull Joyride contest "slick" but still well rideable, as the show the pros put on can testify to. Whistler local Brandon Semenuk took first at the marquee event with a run that involved many tailwhips, many spins, and two huge backflips, while Martin Soderstrom got 2nd, although a huge crash took him out after his finals run. Sam Pilgrim got third. Sunday wrapped up the 10-day festival with the hecklefest known as the Canadian Open Downhill, with all the expected debauchery and shirtlessness Hecker's Rock is known for.
