This John Lautner-Designed Malibu Beach House Asks $22M

New, 1 comment

In 1968, SoCal architecture nonpareil John Lautner, he who was beloved by Bob Hope and whose modern tangles of glass and concrete have recently sprouted on the market like dandelions, realized his design for Stevens' House, a beachfront estate with the large windows and slightly avant garde shapes that made Lautner famous. Forty-five years later, the five-bedroom—complete with large deck, yard, and swimming pool—has hit the listings asking $22M. The brokerbabble says the "architectural masterpiece" was built to resemble the waves just beyond the 37 feet of sandy beach frontage, and that Stevens' House, a California State Cultural Landmark, is "a symbol of the Malibu coastline," so do check out the photos, below.
