It was a tough week for Mammoth Lakes last week. First, a lone white male succeeded in a quiet heist of Union Bank, only two blocks away from Mammoth Lakes PD. Then a single-engine plane carrying a crew of Southern Californians had to make a crash landing after their engine failed after taking off from Mammoth Yosemite Airport (thankfully, none were injured). And the nearby Aspen wildfire continued to prove difficult for firefighters to contain, causing some of the worst local air quality "in recent history."
